Ah, dang then. I hope you don't have issues with the new one you order.

Especially since it's new. I haven't had an amazing experience with Asus, but I've never had a horrible one. First laptop was an Asus Eee PC 2G Surf, but the power cord stopped working (bad connection) and when I tried to fix it I accidentally burnt it out by reversing the polarity. Even though it was my fault, you would think they would have some sort of protection. My Asus tablet, the Transformer, had a screen problem. The backlight would work, but the display would be black. I ended up opening it up about 3 times to fix the cord until finally the entire screen went out. The tablet was out of warranty, but I sent it in anyway since I couldn't afford a new one and figured it would be cheaper than buying a new one. The only thing I had to pay for was the shipping though. I guess they messed up on their end since it clearly said on the paper they sent with the tablet back to me that it was not under warranty. I never ended up getting a bill from them.

    Current Build (Laptop):
    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1

    RAM: 8.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665 MHz

I should also consider getting a desktop, but I'm almost never home during college.

For some reason I always cringe when someone refers to their Hard Drive as Memory. It's like a button that kicks me in the chest, but it's not like it isn't an understandable mistake.

Admit it, you'd love to have 939GB of RAM

In the near future when we'll have chips of 1TB RAM, we'll have better than x64 :V

A Hard Drive is non-volatile memory, so it's a fairly reasonable if confusing term to use for it. What annoys the fuck out of me is when people refer to a tower as a "CPU". That is just objectively wrong.
