I don't know how to feel about this. Uneasy? Uneasy seems right. And wouldn't it make more sense to just remaster it or something? Why does it need a live action version anyway? (Money).

I'm always uneasy about any sort of overseas "remake" The first ones that come to mind are 'Oldboy' and 'Let the Right one In.' Both did NOT need any sort of remakes and were clearly made to make money off of already existing ideas.

With Akira being animated i'm even more uneasy about them trying to convert it into live-action. I feel as though they'll also white-wash the entire cast and pretty much "Americanize-it" like many foreign movies. :///

Yeah, I agree. It really feels like they're trying to target furries as an audience with Zootopia, but what they have to actually show us is so unremarkably entry-level next to all the original content this fandom creates that we're just left going "okay, and?"
