During her and Sev's intimate exchange, Mei neither heard nor saw the third rummaging through their things, she could focus on nothing but the intense pleasure of the moment. Before they parted, she embraced Sev with her own "wings" and wrapped her arms around him. She didn't want it to end either, but it had to. "I will never forget you.... " she whispered, weak at the knees and trembling slightly.

Mei heard the shrieks of agony coming from the third. Sev shot. She had no time to react or wonder what was going on, just to collapse to the ground, eyes wide with shock and confusion.

There was a slicing sound as the plasma bolts ripped through the shadow's semi-corporeal form, nearly severing the arms completely, but both hung by tiny slivers of shadow which burned ember-like around the edges. The shadow shrieked but simultaneously so did Viceroy. The satyr's own flesh around its shoulders burned, scalded, bubbled. The satyr writhed on the ground, still screaming, but the pain was intense enough that the rest of its screams were choked to silence in its throat. Tears streamed unbidden down its face.

The shadow collapsed as if it had become a dark dust and began to coalesce back into shape. The arms were drawing up back into its form. It was having trouble reconnecting though. It had to reopen areas which had been cauterized. The arms popped and crackled as they were forced back to their symbiotic state.

Viceroy shuddered as its shadow recovered and the satyr was slowly beginning to take gasping breaths.
The shadow wagged a finger at Sev, "vOleNti noN FiT iNjuRia. NoCEret mIhI eT nOCeT eI. sUm qUAnTUm SuFFicIt."
It was watching Sev now; ignoring Viceroy at least. However, it did not make a move against the Kah'Saun male.

From her position sitting on her knees in shock she watched the events unfold before her. She had never seen anything like it before; she didn't believe in ghosts or the paranormal, so all of this was taking a bit to process...

Wait... ok, so this is a thing... a weird, shadowy, Latin-speaking demon thing... Sev told me arrows would be no good, but his plasma was able to take care of the arms... Just in case... Her bow rested in the grass a few feet from where she sat, cast aside during her and Sev's lovemaking. She slowly reached for it, just as slowly returning it to her side. She nocked the arrow again and set the bow across her lap, right paw resting on the string, left resting on the riser, ready to fire in the blink of an eye. She was deadly accurate and quick from any position, something she had practiced in her alone-time.

Her heart ached for the third, knowing he was in pain but her only being able to watch to see what happened next...

A long distance away from the conspiring events at hand, a sleek figure crouched on a branch, staring at the tangle of woods that surrounded him, he lashed his tail lazily as it hung below him from the branch. At last the feline hopped down from his vantage point, landing lithely on his paws and padding on the soft soil, tipping his nose in the air as he scented his surrounding, a fanged grin crept across his face.

"Oh! So soon? Apparently I have company, I bet they'd enjoy to be graced with my presence" he purred in amusement.

Wane Moonscar, a young prince from a far kingdom away. Not first to the throne but not last. The lad had been raised in splendor, but curious and ever energetic, Wane had wandered off frequently. Far too frequently, reprimanded plenty of times for this behavior but none too harshly, Wane continued to wander the streets of his village. For he was none but jaded of the royal life, and looked to find a bit of a more adventurous streak.

So it was weeks ago the feline gave the kingdom the slip. They might look for him sure, but he wont be missed on account of many a reason. He wouldn't mind though, he relished in his new and now perhaps permanent freedom in wandering the world at his will. He wasn't the most world savvy, but he knew to weasel his way into getting what he wanted, the crowd loved him! That fruit lady in the market of the last village scowled at him, but he'd figured she was intimidated by him as most are, and of course a few coins away and he obtained the apple of his eye (and the fruit lady had he had time to stay). Of course, there wasn't much form of sentient-life this far into the wood away from civilization, but Wane was confident he could figure it out, he could do anything he wanted to!

Weeding through the maze of trees, his violet cape billowed behind him, an asset of royalty he refused to leave behind. Along with the shining silver amulet the hung from his neck. He tapped it's center with a finger, the blue gem smooth and cool under his pawpad. Unlike his cape, the amulet served more of a purpose than making him gloriously sexy. The amulet served alternate purposes (besides an asset to his undeniable good looks), it stabilized parts of his being, and it therefore allowed him to safely control the deep magics within him, a gifted trait he'd been taught by the best magic teachers to harness. Few of his siblings had it, and he was one of them. He used it far more than most, however, as he was fond of his ability. An arm arced out away from his body, holding a palm in the direction of a tree in his path. A crackling energy erupted from the surface, sparks of purple-tinged energy compounding into a tight sphere, glowing and buzzing for a moment as the tumult of energy formed until it burst out of his being and in the direction of the obstacle. There was a crack and splintered wood flew in the wake of the impact, leaving the structure to groan and slowly collapse into the brush.

Wane hopped over the stump gleefully impressed with himself and continuing down the path into newfound splendor, and it all revolved around him this time.

    Change of Spirit...

He should've known... Sev had just reacted to this... Thing. His tiredness... the thrill of sex still Alive within... this Thing, if he hurt it, it hurt their Third. Tired. Stimulated. Sev re-holstered his weapon, but he did not "re-holster" his alertness. Did not... did not yet realize the dark, burnt orange of his Third Eye was shifting to a deep, dark red. His subarms, his Spirit Arms, yes... tips of his subhand fingers tingled. Some Change, it ran through his body, his Spirit. But hadn't yet touched his mind. He was too focused on the here and now, on the sound and the Sight... the sight of what stood there, a threat to him, to Mei. To their Third. But not too focused to note this Thing did not attack....... *

Sev dropped his useless gunbelt, then dropped to all fours. Spirit arms tight to chest, ears fully back and down. Quills erect, tail stiff. Teeth, exposed. Grrrrrllll! from throat. Hide tight on his slender yet muscular frame. His whole pose, pure aggression. That aggression, perhaps reason his Spirit reacted, as well... since the threat to his survival, to the survival of his companions, came from the Spiritual Realm...

... "You speak a dead language... speak one that lives, and tell me how quickly you will return to the Realm that sparked you!"

Perhaps too bold, these words. Sev felt a bit of surprise at them, himself, even though they'd come from his own throat. A deep intake of breath...

... "If you continue to torment, I will have no choice, despite the cost. One of your ilk cannot be abided."

Hrrrrrr! Was he sounding like his father, now?

The shadow elongated, looking a bit more elegant and composed than the creature it was attached to. Its voice came out smoother but still breathy.
"As you wish it, dragon." It said with a curt bow of its head.
"Am I the unwelcome one? Seems much the opposite. You interlope in a conflict you know nothing about."
It folded its arms defensively and tapped its hoof with impudence.

The satyr weakly tried to push up on its knees, making whimpering noises as it did so due to the terrible burns around its shoulders.
"Pleathe... no more." Viceroy begged of the both of them.
The shadow turned its head to look down at Viceroy.
"Promise you will keep these arms. How long has it been since interaction on the physical plane was so available?"
Viceroy seemed less than eager to submit to its request, but it knew no other option. Its shadow shrugged.
"Okay, truce. You won't suffer injury as done before. But there is no promise that shaking or slapping won't be done in times of great frustration."

The satyr begrudgingly nodded. How else was it to be free of the shadow for now?
    "Yesh arright." Viceroy conceded.
    The shadow bowed its head.
"Then I will sleep again. Should you need me, the night and the light of the fire are what grant me stronger interaction on this plane."
It said the last part to inform the other two before slowly sinking back into the ground. Eventually only a normal shadow remained and the preserved arms laid neatly crossed over one another.

Viceroy just sat there for a moment before woozily falling forward onto its hands and knees. It still looked at the other two warily as if it had never seen them before. However, it acknowledged Sev.
"Thankth drag-ann." It said with a lopsided grin.

From pure ecstasy to pure terror, what a night... Mei stood up and took a few unsure steps towards Viceroy, still shaken from what she had just seen. When she was sure that the shadow was gone, she flung her bow to the ground and ran to his side. She kneeled next to him and inspected his wounds, her caring side taking over again, shoving aside the fear. "Ohhhh sweetie, this doesn't look good..." She said upon inspection of his burns. "I might have something that will help though.. where did I put it?" She grabbed her pack and started rummaging through the small amount of supplies she had with her. "Ah, here!" She held up a small first aid kit.

"This will only hurt for a moment, stay strong!" She applied a burn cream containing a local anesthetic to Viceroy's wounds and held him for any movement that would come from the stinging sensation to follow. She then took a roll of gauze and wrapped them gingerly, making sure that the anesthetic had taken effect first. She sat back on her haunches to inspect her handiwork. "That will do for now, I hope it eased your pain at least slightly..." She glanced back at Sev with a worried 'please explain what the HELL is going on here' look.

    Truce and Consequences...

For all his not knowing what to do about their Third, Sev did know what to do. Here and now. Now that this Threat had made truce. Conflict not over, no, but now, able to relax. To stretch... yawn... Eye returning to its normal color as he, a bit wobbly on his own on-fours feet, yes, as he approached Mei and their Third. And yes, he knew that look in a female's eyes. Knew he'd caused their Third pain. And injury.

    A deep sigh....... *

... "There are... worlds outside our own realm. Worlds where the dead go when they die. Worlds where other creatures... live, born to their own realms. All these... all these... worlds... they exist in the same space as ours, just at... at a different... frequency... vibrational level, if... if you will." Another very wide, toothy yawn... "Sometimes, these worlds cross. My people can... perceive these beings, when they intrude. Dead Spirits that haven't crossed over. Creatures like... this Threat... who need... us... so they can stay. Call... call it a fixed point of refer... reference.......*"

Sev's tired eyes shifted from Mei to their Third... to Viceroy...

    ... "I'm... I'm sorry.......*"

The tingle hadn't left the tips of subhand fingers... and yes, Sev reached out, touched Viceroy with those fingers, as if in reflex. A slight "crackle"... tingle, suddenly gone. Sev.......

....... eyes rolled back, he hit the ground with a Thumph! Just a tipping over from his down-on-haunches pose to flopped on his side, unconscious. Perhaps, a bit of his Spirit, a bit of his energy, passed on to their Third. Indeed, he shouldn't have had sex and a Spiritual "battle" after a long, tiring day on the road.

Mei nodded as she followed Sev's explanation. "I didn't think any of that was real... I've heard stories..." she whispered, eyes wide. She glanced back at Viceroy, wondering where he came from.

Mei heard a 'thumph' behind her and she spun around just in time to see Sev's limbs relaxing on the ground where his body had fallen. She yelped and ran to his side. "What the hell?! Too much stress tonight!" She yelled, throwing her head to his chest to listen for a heartbeat. His heart seemed to be normal enough, so she sat up and gazed at his resting face. So handsome... she thought back to just minutes previously, to their shared moment of passion and life. She stroked his cheek with the back of her paw. I wonder if he has any blankets in his pack... She pushed herself to her feet and walked over to his things.

    (Ooc assuming he has these)

She returned moments later with a sleeping bag and a pillow. She gently lifted his head and set the pillow beneath, then straightened his body out, pulling his legs and tail to a more comfortable position. She unrolled the sleeping bag and set it beside Sev. She pushed on Sev's shoulders and with some effort managed to roll him onto the bedding. She panted slightly from the pushing. Sev wasn't that heavy but Mei wasn't particularly strong.

"Oh!! I didn't forget about you!" She said to Viceroy, who was still where she left him. "You can use these." She retrieved a pink blanket and a small pillow from her pack. She wrapped the blanket around his shoulders gently and set the pillow at his side. "Are you going to be ok? If you need me I will be right over there." She pointed at Sev, acting calmly but not sure if she would be able to sleep after tonight's events. She kissed Viceroy on the cheek. "Goodnight, try to get some rest, ok?"

Mei settled in next to Sev, snuggling against his side and curling her tail over her lower body. She gazed at the full moon and stars, trying to relax her body and mind.

The satyr actually cringed as the wolfish woman ran toward it. It threw up an arm defensively but blinked and looked around when she spoke in a concerned voice as her hands moved its arms back and forth as she inspected it.
    "No good. No." It agreed.
She ran and gathered up something bringing it back to the satyr and rubbing something on its burns. It gasped and winced, but it tried to hold still simply because she was still talking so kindly to it. The pain did subside a little after a moment and its lumpy muzzle smiled at her awkwardly.

Viceroy just looked on, confused, as the dragon-like thing said a lot of words it didn't follow. It realized though that the dragon thing reached out and apologized for some reason. Viceroy did not do more than turn its head to the side in further curiosity before the dragon thing touched it with one of its littler arms. There was a jolt of energy passing through it suddenly. The satyr sneezed out its mouth getting slobber down its chin. A shimmer of a golden halo appeared around its head, visible to even those not spiritually gifted, but only for a moment. Not only that but its face seemed less misshapen, more refined... but that too lasted only for a moment so it might seem like an illusion.

It did not pay attention as Mei checked on Sev. But it looked up when the wolfish woman told it she had not forgotten it and placed a blanket on it. Viceroy's eye watered up a little bit before it snuggled into the blanket and had the pillow under its head and on top of its shoulder. It shuffled its limbs getting warm and comfortable, eye shutting slowly.

For some reason... it was as if the wolfish woman seemed familiar. As if... it had seen her before it woke to eat the fish... possibly. Its long tail drew around its form, drifting to sleep with the sense of deja vu. A small memory surfaced of her in the water swimming. The bright sky shine... there were smooth stones she was diving for...

First a Crrrrrkkkk! and then a CRASSSHHH! as a tree fell in the distance. The satyr bolted up, alert, much like a dog. Its crumpled ears even perked up and its eye was wide as it tried to hone in on where the noise had come from.
It stood quickly and without a thought began to walk off into the forested area to the east.

Its tongue licked the air and there was a tingly electric taste on the wind.
"Purpur." It said to itself as it licked at its lips. Its labret shifted from a dull black to a purple color.
