"Asexual predator" reads the same as "a sexual predator". Think about that one.

I've always been curious as to the redundancy of gay in the acronym. Did someone decide that gay no longer meant homosexual but instead man-only-sexual?

I am also curious who decided gay no longer means "happy"

It still means happy, that definition is quite included in all listings. Man-only-sexual however is not.

Really, it is neat knowing that it did not become an archaism. I always loved when Poe or Lovecraft, and other 18th and 19th century authors used "gay" to describe any instance of happiness.
It added to the atmosphere of the settings they built.

I think queer for "strange, quirky, novel" is still a great value to prose as well.

Sorry Vae, I must agree that Asexuals aren't truly an oppressed group. A person being rude or not understanding exactly what your relatively new "sexuality" is doesn't really equal discrimination. But I'd be ok with putting them in the LGBT+ since they represent a differing sexual orientation (or lack there of) to the heterosexual power group.

I actually used to identify as asexual but that's sorta a complicated story.

You are right. I think I used it in some works actually.

There are also many archaic, or now-bizarre words which simply add to a stories atmosphere a lot.

I thinj asexuality should be considered in the spectrum because they can and do have relationships that other people would perceive as homosexual and dent them rights otherwise. For example, homosexual man dating an asexual man. No one is gonna be "oh you're asexual? Oh well you're okay then." it's similar to how bisexuals are treated but not quite the same as they have their own differences.

And for anyone that actually values intelligence, here is a link explaining how people are more than just X and Y chromosomes http://www.wsj.com/articles/SB100014...34030532617704. FtM transsexuals identify as men because that is how the brain is wired. Vice versa for MtF transsexuals. We are more than just chromosomes and it's stupid to think otherwise.
We all have our demons. If we're not fighting them, then we've befriended them.
