But since the majority of users seem to have the same impression as I did, that Weasyl is a furry site, why would you need to tag anthro on a furry site when that's 95% of the art anyway? So no wonder people are not using it.

And still, since non-anthro is a very tiny fragment of the content now, it makes more sense to tag the minority rather than the majority.

Because doing so will just hurt more than it helps because it will overlap with FA and just look "cleaner". THat's it.

It's probably easier to have a seperate Anthro, Non-anthro and Scenario tabs. Anthro will still get their exposure but the non-anthro that stay at the front page for much longer in their comfort zone will have a much easier time staying long for exposure.

Actually we just recommend general species tag to start with. Whether that's Anthro, Alien, Human, Monster, Feral Animal, etc.

I don't understand what are you trying to say with that. "overlap with FA"? Can you explain please?

FA currently is a lot easier to use for both searching for a piece and also giving exposure. While Weasyl looks neater atm, its low userbase and pointlessly complicated features are why I'm not using Weasyl as my main gallery and I'm sure a lot users are like this as well.

The site goes against so many rule of Golden UI design I learned in my Human-Computer Interface class that it makes me somewhat sad.

As opposed to the complete lack of same features on FA, it's still thousand times better.

I see you complain but I don't see you giving actual constructive feedback in this regard.

P.s.: In my personal opinion as a person who used to be a webdesigner, Weasyl's UI is pretty darn cool in general with some certain parts messed up and if those are fixed it will be great.

I have been complaining about how annoying it is to use. Anyone that took HCI class knows about that golden rule. Weasyl broke this rule.

"Cater to universal usability": The whole "Tagging" thing screams "Experience user only". The feature completely abandon new users who are used to just typing the name is and search right away. we have to add special tag in front and go through "How to" just to be able to use it.

My feed back may sound like complaints but they are right to the point. Constructive feedback doesn't mean I have to praise what I feel shouldn't be praised. The site is cool and neat, yes but it isn't really serving its purpose as an art showcasing and share site. Every other site just stick all the content on the front page. Weasyl try to have unnecessary spots here and there in the front page. The how to, the who's streaming and etc should have been put in a seperate tab for those interested. To put them all in the front page eats the much valuable spaces that could be used to show case people stuff which is exactly why they're using the site.

So my opinion as a Software major student who also has to design UI for his software (Website, andriod app and pointless stuffs), I give Weasyl a 4/10 when it comes to fulfilling the whole point of using the said site.
