I really like your stuff so far. You've got great coloring and lineart sensibilities and I'm liking the way your style is developing

One crtiique I have though is sense you're going for a cartoony style, I think you should make your faces and eyes more elastic and expressive. It seems like you're trying to fit your expressions into more rigid shapes, but if you distorted and stretched them out a bit more loosely, I think it'd fit your style well.

Thanks for the comments. In time I may steer that direction because I do see what you're saying. I'm not sure if this relates to what you're saying, but keep in mind the pencil work like the picture above smooths out once I do the line work, so stuff that looks rigid ends up flowing better. I want to be careful though "overtooning" my design, because I want them to look "serious" enough to be taken seriously when appropriate. Imagine Saturday Morning Disney meets the 20-30 year old demographic (or older).

However, I've only given this about 3-4 months, so I imagine my drawing style will naturally mature and possibly fall into more of what you're saying. Thanks again.

This is my first speed painting video. I happened to have this footage from a livestream I did a few weeks ago and decided to have some fun with it. This is my main character Arlo that I designed for a possible series I'm working on. Unfortunately, I had drawn the character already before this video was shot. However, this shows EVERYTHING after that to completion.

The span of this video was 7-8 hours compressed into roughly 10 minutes.
