What about krita? krita.org
it's kind of like a lovechild of photoshop, painter, and SAI (maybe not super explicitly idk)....and it's open source, and freeee. There's a lot of linux distros supported, as well as windows, there's an OSX version but it's still in development.

Just wanted to put this out. I have created two tutorials for Krita and GIMP. They are in depth and mainly talks about how to configure your Wacom tablet to work with the following software. Currently working on another video, a review to be more specific that focuses on the iPad stylus. There is a video up there that demonstrates speed painting process using only figures on the iPad. I love Clip Studio Paint. It's pretty much all I use anymore. It's great for those of us who just want to draw.

I really dig Medibang so far, huge step up from FireAlpaca, and ime it's a lot like MangaStudio/ClipStudioPaint! I'm sure they have their specialties but from my use they are fairly identical UI and output.
Medibang is also free but closed source i think?, and you have to see a little ad at start up, but it's not obtrusive and for me it usually is just a blank pop up so...also only windows/mac.

Oh! Not really drawing programs, but I also really like these:
Scribus is a digital layout program a la InDesign; but free, open source, and available for Windows/Mac/Linux! It's what I've been laying out all my zines with for a while (bc my indesign bugged out; and now all my adobe stuff is on a different partition and i need to reinstall it but it's not a huge priority rn) If you're ever needing to make print or pdf books, flyers, etc, it's handy.

Sweet Home 3D is the sims with all the boring sim stuff taken out, hahah! But really, if you like building little model houses/rooms/places so you can get a better sense of space and environment for your characters, this program is really useful. Again, free, open source, and cross-platform. I can't really compare it against SketchUp, as I've never really used it, but imo SH3D is great for having a reference point for your interiors.
