Added Maya, 3dsMax, ZBrush, Mudbox, and Blender in a new "3D" category.
Keep 'em comin'!
Forgot to mention SketchBookPro and CorelPainter. Also some good programs for painting.
Really loving this thread, Demu. Lots of great resources. List looks great! I recognize a lot but there are some that I might dabble in. Very good idea for a thread c:
For 3D you can add the following programs:
-SoftImage (one of the more popular ones used in the game industry, though Maya is most popular as far as I know! http://www.autodesk.com/softimage)
-Lightwave (https://www.lightwave3d.com/)
-Marmoset (http://www.marmoset.co/)
-Unreal Development Kit (http://www.unrealengine.com/udk/)
-Unity (http://unity3d.com/)
-CrazyBump (not sure if it counts - basically it's a program that makes bump maps/normal maps off existing textures for your models, and allows you to tweak just how much depth there is, and which direction, how hard/soft, etc. http://www.crazybump.com/ )
-xNormal (sort of like CrazyBump, with AO/Displacement maps as well and such. http://www.xnormal.net/1.aspx)
Not sure if this was mentioned, but don't forget about Corel Painter and Sketchbook Pro!
Haha. I like how it says "boomtoon" instead of "toonboom". Typo? :')
SketchUp seems good for background/3D concepts. Not sure where that will go on the list. o:
