    Hey! The hair on his chin should actually come down in the middle, not the side. The way you've got it now makes it look like his chin is made of goo and its sliding rightward. Also, the tear ducts in the eyes are gonna come out more diagonally than straight down. It looks pretty cool beyond those two, though! C:

    Your recent examples like the swimming suit one already shows you have more than enough skill. You just need to find just the "thing" you like to do and that's it.

    I just like to grab the color of the outline and use it as the shadow. (I usually ctrl+U the line into some other color based on what my character has a lot like black to dark red and just use that as the primary shadow on the picture)

    That and drawing waifus/husbandos/ocs give you a lot more motivation to go crazy.
