    Gaming Guilty Pleasures

Now, I don't like the term 'guilty pleasure' because I'd rather not feel guilty about doing something I legitimately enjoy. BUT you know what I'm talking about with this thread... Lets hear them.

I really like Final Fantasy XIII. Yes it's a hallway, but the hallway had a cool story and character designs. And the Paradigm system was pretty damn fun. Here's an guilty pleasure bonus: I kind of like Hope. After character development anyway.
    Watch me swooce right in.

    That's a puzzle in itself.

I hate to say it, but I play minecraft from time-to-time only to build contraptions and make them into a functional game in itself. I don't play survival mode... Okay maybe a little bit, but only because I like brewing potions...

I don't think there are any particular games I can feel guilty for enjoying, but some small things...

I am that guy that takes the vehicle in an FPS game and only uses it for running over other players. Sometimes with explosives attached to it.

I like sitting back and watching griefers go at it sometimes, because some gamers take their games far too seriously.

I abuse the RNG in Pokemon, for the same reasons as above.

I don't know, I just don't take games seriously so this tends to have results that are too funny.

I'd be specific and specify with "I like some of his meh titles like Secret Rings and...well Secret Rings" but liking Sonic period seems to carry a stigma no matter what. :/

Haven't got anything other than that.
Some of the later Sonic games have been utterly amazing. I consider Unleashed on my all time list of favorite games, it got so much more hate than it ever deserved. Generations was also a real gem, and the Sonic kart racing game is shockingly more fun than Mario Kart ever was for me. So, I do agree there is a stigma out there about Sonic fans, but it mainly stems from them being unable to be pleased no matter WHAT Sega does. They're ungrateful fans through and through.

My personal gaming guilty pleasure is... well, I feel guilty for how I played Oblivion. I toggled god mode constantly, and then put some questionable mods into the game. xD Still, I had an absolute blast with the game. I couldn't have cared less for the game mechanically, but it was an absolute delight to go exploring all over and not feel the tension of death, to be able to soak up the world and stories. Some people like that challenge, I don't... which tends to be called blasphemous by many gamers, haha. Oh well.

Hm. I will state that I do think Okami is a solid, entertaining game. I don't feel ashamed to have played it through at all.

The sheer amount of time I have spent playing it and hitting the damn circle button to make Amaterasu bark borders on shameful, though. Would I be as obsessed with it if the main character were not a brightly-colored wolf? I... I don't know. I end up replaying that one a lot, though. A lot.

    i own the soundtrack.

I've probably put way more time into Skyrim, but there's so many damn sidequests, I only feel a little bad about that.
Formerly gorgonops. I do art-type stuff.

Any MMORPG. Practically an entire genre defined in terms of shallow and tedious mechanics coupled to purposely drawn out character progression, necessarily pointless storytelling, and increasingly bizarre business models. MMORPGs are truly the run-down casinos of gaming, and I've probably put more hours into them than any other single genre.

I... used to play MapleStory. And admittedly adored it. But it got super dumb! They kept making stupid new classes and OPing them and then raising everyone else's abilities so that everyone was OP and then new classes that were literally the skillsets of the old classes with new names and animations and calling it "new" and having a promo and having pretty art and ew. And the market in it went through massive inflation. Everything worth anything cost at least 1b. If you could afford it, you merched till you got 50+b. If you didn't, you sucked and had shitty stuff. And then instead of making new and challenging game ideas, maps, etc, they just made better places to grind and raised the level cap. People didn't even play PQs any more. It was all about grinding and merching and it was the grossest stuff >:C Hence why I quit it.
Uhm. That was totally not a rant :V That was my guilty pleasure game. That is all. Aha.

I...... Enjoyed Devil May Cry 2.
I dunno I don't really understand it either.
But I mean they fact that Dante never said that much kind of added a different tone to that game and just made things a little less goofy, a little more sinister which is quiet nice. I understand how DMC fans felt let down however, I couldn't really care though.

Even Sonic 06 in all its hilarity and brokenness.
