It was a thing being arrested for no reason and sent to labour camps here. That is an atmosphere I wish upon no one.
I mean, truly, there is nothing trivial in seeing yourself, or worse, your loved ones, suddenly disappearing from the streets one day, never to hear from them again.
Hell, I had relatives deported to Siberia.

This little thing aside, what kept my gears grinding yesterday was the fact that I had to rush mine and my little sister's dog to the vet and because there was a National Holiday, I found out all the vets were closed. I had to cope with my dog crying and squealing in sheer pain for a reason, at that time, unknown, and my little sister too, crying in fear and panic. It was rather shattering. So I spent most of the day searching high and low for a vet that might be magically open, carrying the little snow ball in my arms throughout town, with my sister besides me. Eventually I found an open vet clinic in the center of the town.

Dog is good now, for the moment. Will take him back this Wednesday for check-ups. It was an adventure I really do not want to repeat.

I mean... Getting arrested for it is a bit much (and the possibility of that law being misused is a valid concern).

However, speaking from experience here in Belgium: I've had guys give me the stinkeye when I refused to fold my legs in an uncomfortable origami-like position because they were spreading out and taking up way more room than was necessary and how dare I not accomodate them because balls get sweaty and need airing out and yadda yadda (no joke, by the way, as I actually got that argument thrown at me). And I don't know about you guys, but I find it extremely antisocial when, if the bus-seats are facing each-other and are already uncomfortably close, that then someone is pretty much putting their crotch on display whilst taking up as much room as possible.

Same goes for on the train. I understand that they can get crowded. I understand that on a crowded train, you will be touching the person next to you with your legs. This is not an excuse to scoot over and take up even more space until I'm almost smushed against the window to try and get away from them.

And inb4 "But handbags / women do this too!": yes, there are also women who are annoying and take up way more space than is necessary. But, if a train is nearly empty and I see a creep circling around to try and scoot on over next to me, I am placing my bookbag next to me. If only because I know from experience that an empty wagon + creepster is a hell of a way to make sure I get home in a piss-poor mood because some jackass has never heard of the concept of "personal space" and that if I am listening to music, I'm not interested in conversation.

/phew, sorry. Ranted there for a bit.

I think that's terrible...it's an atmosphere Americans fear coming to fruition here. If you look at some of the mentality of this thread you can see why, because it seems almost as many Americans don't take the idea of a nightmare police state seriously. They're too blinded by their own bitterness, dismissing dangerous steps towards it. I'm sorry that you've been through that.

That also sounds like a rough day to have. I hope things turn out well.

Wow. And his follow-up tweet was not much better, apparently (wanting to celebrate "his" (Caitlyn's) legacy as greatest athlete).
It's not like addressing someone correctly is even that difficult. :c

Luckily for me, I only caught the aftermath of downfall and the immediate rise from that period that brought everything into rubble with its tyranny. I cannot say the same about my parents, sadly.
Though, thanks to communism, the entirety of the 20th century was like, literally, a horror story around here.
Serves as a lesson, I guess... Never vote Socialist, kids! ))))))))

I got lots of stories worth sharing too.

But yes, you certainly do not want a communist regime.

Back to the puppy, I too hope things turn out well. I treasure that little snowball. There's just so much we have been through, not to mention how he brightens my day every time I arrive home, only to see him waiting for me at the door, reading to pounce on me and all. I cannot stand anything happening to him. Not to mention my sister would be devastated.
He is feeling considerably better now. I am hoping no aggravations will arise.

Yeah, I don't know that it's communism itself to blame so much as the results of the world's only other superpower refusing to let it peacefully exist anywhere.

              let's go play, together...

Ah, I don't know why my brain didn't put 2 and 2 together. Bell always did look like a douche.
