I've been through this, and found out the easiest way for me is:

Let's suppose there is instrument A making the chords and B the melody.

Part 1 of the song is over, the melody made by B has to be drastically changed.

I will keep playing A's chords for a little longer, alone, and then play the melody above it. If the melody is going to repeat, now I can change the chords to make a new atmosphere.

It works better with multiple instruments, though, starting from 3. If you listen to my song, I keep the chords when changing the beats and bring back the melody when the final chords are being played, tying up the starting and ending themes.

I'm glad to hear the song works! I'll keep an eye on the kicks, I tend to go overboard with them, last time I plugged something I made on an amplifier, it sounded like the kicks would fry the speaker. xD

This one includes a gutteral growl at the very end.

I liked that a lot c: even the growl aha.
I've never listened to much deftones despite being nagged to death to do so. I may have to soon.

I have too much unfinished demos to share anything of recent, between rock and acoustic crap and not much is being done :c

Well, this is the product of my morning, turning an acoustic idea into a 1950s sounding thing

Here is a little something I've produced this week, rip it down!

    -----

Namba: a bit more of chest voice would be great. You can keep it high pitched, but push more air out of your lungs.

I agree with JiJi, the growl was a cool, subtle add to it. xD

    -----

JiJi: Man! These vocals are matching the music way, WAY better than your previous pieces, I'm impressed. A smile through the entire song, well done and I hope to hear the complete piece soon.

    -----

Greg: Nice beat, keep going! I'm a sucker for melodies, so I'd bring up the lead, but that's me. And name's Javer.

i released an album of my own compositions a few weeks back. i'm the saxophonist in these recordings too

    http://only-us.bandcamp.com

currently i'm working on arrangements of "bunny/no bunny" and "betty looks at the birds" for the london jazz orchestra. never written for big band before, so who knows how that's going to turn out
when i was 15 i cut myself a mohawk because i wanted to walk the walk and not just talk the talk, but it was a bit of a disaster because i did the sides with kitchen scissors. i didn't have any clippers and i didn't want to use a beard trimmer

First of all, I apologize for not postin here for a long time. Now that this part of the forum exists, however...

This is my latest piece. I'll save sharing my usual material for another time.

Little iffs and bits I did on Guitar Pro 6 and uploaded. Definitely not perfect, but gives a good idea of what it sounds like
