FFVII on Steam was a pretty lazy port of the old Windows 95 release. In fact, it was so lazy that instead of including recordings of the PlayStation soundtrack, they recorded the MIDI files that came with the release. Without the special soundfonts that made it sound like the PSX release. The net result is no vocals in One Winged Angel. I'll let that sink in for a moment.

Pretty sure it's [video] but I haven't gotten it to work yet.

Anyway when I heard that I tried my hand at redoing it just for shits and giggles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcTVZ8LUNJM - A couple hours of work using my soundfont collection and the soundfont + MIDI file that came with the game ended up with a much better version than the official one.

Wow, a couple of hours and a fan did much better.
