@Toshabi: Sometimes less is more and when all you have is a car and a storage shed, less is definitely more. Mostly my time will probably be spent networking with friends and pooling my less physical resources so if there's an emergency I'll have a place to go. I like to save favours for occasions such as these.

@ShadWolf: I kinda disagree on that point. I'm not particularly popular myself, but I do tend to get commissions fairly regularly. I promote myself a lot though. I think its more about skill, hard marketing, and professionalism than popularity if you want to get commissions. However, I do think that making it as a living is definitely effected by your reputation. Repeat customers are more valuable than popularity and if you want those customers you gotta promote. Popularity seems to be more of a side effect of good selling practices.
