So the first few days of the forum have been quite exciting for us! We're glad to see all the people interested in the site and get a chance to chat with you all, and we are also enjoying the feedback thus far!

I'd like to talk a little bit about the forum usergroups and what they all do, and what has been changed so there is no confusion for folks!


Forum Admin
These are the ones who manage a lot of the forum backend and the functionality of the site. We do the forum styling, promote users and manage the forum staff and make sure things run smoothly and such!

Forum Mod
These are the ones who are mainly in charge of the frontend of stuff, under supervision of the Forum Admins. They make sure things stay tidy, merge threads and make sure our forum rules are followed.

Mainsite Admin
These people don't have the moderation/administration powers that the forum staff do on here and basically only have a coloured name to show they are a staff member (along with the benefits of a premium member as well).

Mainsite Mod

Ferrets
Ferrets are members of the Ferret usergroup, managed and run by the Department of Ferret Affairs. They have their own special forum section and the same benefits as premium users do. Premium
Premium members are users who have a paid subscription to the site (Or those who have donated $20+ on our fundraiser (http://www.indigogo.com/weasyl)

Benefits of a Premium user:
-150x150 avatar size instead of 100x100
-More images allowed in signature
-More characters allowed in signatures
-Coloured username
-Larger inbox (300)
-Can create 10 groups (Default is 5 for non-premiums)
-Can close their own threads


Please note we may add more features in the future to Premiums, this list is not set in stone!

Also note that the Admin/Mod positions can be held for both mainsite and forums by a single person, they aren't one or the other! (Though they can be!)

Onto some forum change logs as well!


Since we opened publicly, here are some of the changes made on the forums that were suggested/bug-fixed:

-Thread titles font size increased from 11 to 12 (font sizes all may be bumped up 1 in the future, still fiddling!)
-Usergroup legend updated: added forum/mainsite admin/mods, premium
-Bugfix: bolded ferret names
-Added new bbcodes: [spoiler2][yt] (http://forums.weasyl.com/vbulletin/misc.php?do=bbcode for full list of our bbcode)
-Tweaked some forum colours that were too dim/dark
-Fixed double post merger font colour
-Fixed signatures/images from [img] tags not resizing correctly
-Added weasyl youtube and facebook links to navbar
-Tweaked "Fandom" section description
-Removed border on avatars
-Added Role-Playing forum and subsection
-Changed from GD to ImageMagick for image uploads
-CSS cleaned up a tiny bit and optimized
-Bugfix: made announcement links easier to read


There's probably more that we've tweaked as well, but we haven't been writing them all down and we still have a long list of features to change/tweak/add to the site!
