Terrible animation, stupidness, unoriginality, violence, sexual themes, suspense, language, and scariness. Can't even force myself to sit through something with those qualities. The majority of the movies I watch are Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks and I don't watch TV anymore.

There's too much junk in Hollywood and TV.

Unnecessary sex scenes turn me off. I'm not talking about implied sex but full on everything. Dammit if I wanted to watch porn, I'd watch porn.
We all have our demons. If we're not fighting them, then we've befriended them.

Vulgarity, drugs, and nudity jokes. I could never get into the "frat-boy humor" of stuff like American Pie. I could never get into Tarantino films either. They always seemed like violence for the sake of violence.

This, this, a thousand times this, mainly with your first point. There's no wit and no cleverness in the jokes of most comedy movies that come out of Hollywood these days. It's...it's not funny. It's asinine in the extreme.

Another thing that has been annoying me lately? All this rehashing of either much older films or ripping off works of literature one by one. I can freely admit that occasionally I'll go see a remake and be suitably entertained, but honestly I wish there was more originality and a willingness by the directors and screenwriters to think outside the box, toe the line or live dangerously when it comes to making a creative movie. Lately the only movies I've spent money to see have been Disney/Pixar films, and even that is so few and far between these days.

Remakes. The movies and shows that get remade are inevitably those that were already popular and well designed. Attempting to modernize them while maintaining any resemblance to the original is doomed to mediocrity. Not to say that older properties can't be reimagined--just look at Nolan's Batman--but that doing so requires turning them into new experiences, instead of taking something old and inserting new actors and effects.

I hate it when damage to a character does not carry throughout the rest of the story. I'm talking like someone gets shot in the leg, is in pain, and then runs away throughout the rest of the movie like nothing is wrong. Adrenaline can only take you so far >.<. It destroys my immersion when there's a huge scene focusing on someone taking a hit and they just jog off in peak physical condition.

    Also I just don't get Tarantino movies. I really just don't x.x.

Sounds like a live-action Tom and Jerry cartoon. Reminds me of the Ernest Green movies, which WERE live-action cartoons.

For me.... Poor character development will usually make me stop watching a TV show.
Also if plot is introduced and immediately wrapped up. I don't like when a TV show becomes episodic. I needz me an overarching plot of theme to keep me entertained.

In movies; poor character motivation. Poor plot development. Lazy writing. Poor Storytelling. Random plot derailing 'something' that starts and then stops and we just move on that adds nothing.
Horrible people being horrible, and then bring rewarded for it. Not because it's tragedy or has a theme in there. Because the writer genuinely thought that their stupid, selfish, character wasn't a horrible person. Goes back to bad writing, but it's like this really specific kind of bad writing that makes me raaaage XD

SEX CAN BOTHER ME. But it depends. Otherwise I could say. VIOLENCE BOTHERS ME. (and a lot of times it does)
If it's gratuitous, pointless, and mostly looking to just objectify one person or glorify another.... that's pretty bothersome.
I don't particularly like a lot of films where the ultimate goal of character A is to bone character B.
I suppose I'm just particular.... I like things to be tasteful mostly :p

Hey remember when Batman needed to wear special braces because all the tissue in his knees was just gone

and then he lost them and kept having a run around because Chris Nolan forgot I guess

also what is with people and freely admitting they don't understand Tarantino. That's not something to be proud about

Personally nothing makes me say "ok this is horrible". More then seeing something truly unoriginal and inspired. Granted there is so many themes taken. But just because there is a theme and its over used. Doesn't mean you can actually take the next step and make it greater.

Mainly with sci-fi these days. Its always about ERMAHGERD ITS A ALIEN RUN! KILL KILL!! What is this, the 1960's? Action is well...action. This is mainly why i hunt down anime OVA's and anime inspired films now. Pretty much anything live-action related is so over used and exaggerated. It sickens me...I just got done watching Tekken the movie. Seeing as i played the original arcade & PS1 versions. They completely butchered the stories. Major details of the characters were lost. Kazuya Mashima for instance. He didn't have his tell tale chest scare. etc etc...ugh
