To me, that's like not drawing at all because you don't get commissions.

I really don't like DA because of the really bad community, but at least amusing drama comes from it.
The only reason I'm still on there is because of friends that don't go on any other site I go on.
I know right! Drama is a lot there! Especially in fandoms! I also have a lot problems with the DA site because it don't load good! Its, or slow, or you getting X's, or you see only text on white page. And some of my friends have this problem as well. And don't forget the new rules. I don't get it anyway. DA is getting using as a second Photobucket or Imagehack or whatever that site is calling. Also, they get over 10000 dollars because of the subscribes, why is the site still so bad in loading? I uploaded some new pics, It took me like a hour to upload art there, that takes like 5 min on FA. LOL! Weasyl and FA ftw!

I haven't really had a problem with dA. Actually I get even less exposure on fA, though that's probably because I haven't figured it out yet. I don't get many comments on any site, and most of my exposure comes from submitting pictures on dA to groups. Maybe I just completely fail at dA and fA, but I honestly haven't seen any drama outside of linked examples of drama.

I've heard enough bad stories about dA to have not wanted to ever go there. That, and much of my art is completely unsuitable for it, of course.

I certainly don't leave art sites that I can post on, however. The more advertising base, the better.

I met some very interesting poets, prose writers, and literary artists on DA and acquired some very good feedback, inspiration, direction, and overall it was a good period to be on DA for me.

But then there were other things that annoyed me about the website, particularly the moderation, and I certainly did not feel my literary works would be well appreciated there after awhile.

Anthro art is also of a certain niche, it seems, and while I went to FA to fill that niche it certainly has lost touch in some ways to me.

I would, however, like to see the community of literature fostered here, as the layout is nice and simple.

I am still slightly active on DeviantART but it's just filled with immature kids and people that doesn't credit stuff correctly.

I still have a DA account but I'm planning on leaving it because basically, I'm not in the community and I get next to no notice on any of my art. It's the same with FA to be honest. I don't know, nobody really look at my art.

Seems like DeviantArt is just a cesspool of drama more than a site to post your art, it makes sense to me that people would want out of that.

I'm not uploading to DA anymore because it's unfriendly to users with slow connections. It's been impossible to upload anything there, even if I wanted to upload something. And I feel like everytime I have to use it, I have to treat it with kid gloves. The only reason I bother to check that accounts is to see if people have left any comments or journals. I still have some friends there.

When I did upload stuff there though, I noticed that I will get a proportionately equal amount of comments as I do faves (well to be precise, more faves than comments, but about the same amount everywhere else I post it), and on FA, I get significantly more watches and maybe faves than I do comments. I mean I will check on my FA account every now and then, and I will see new icons popping up under the watching section, but the section about the faves and comments barely move at all. I wonder if this is what happens when the majority of subjects you draw are not furries or only slightly animalistic. I know people have said they get lots of attention on Tumblr, but I find I don't. I don't entirely know why, or maybe I just don't get how it works, but Tumblr doesn't exactly encourage people to post comments about stuff because they're reblogs, and I still get more faves there than reblogs, but in general, people don't tend to give you much attention there as any attempts at forming a community there are severely lacking. (anybody ever seen a Tumblr forum? I haven't found one yet.) I still don't get a lot of faves or attention on DA in general, unless I post to a group (I unexectedly got a DD for a lighting tutorial after a friend suggested I posted it to a group...don't know how that happened), but I can't say that wasn't expected, as I don't draw fanart or anything that other people necessarily like to look at. I just post my stuff online for people who happen to find it interesting. I know I'm not opening myself up to a larger audience because I refuse to draw fanart for fandoms or characters I have no interest in at all, and because I don't take commissions except art trades and collabs, but I can live with that. What I can't live with is the ridiculous crap they do over on DA, like forcing people to beta test a feature and being unable to opt out (something I wouldn't mind if people had intentionally signed up to be a beta tester to begin with), and being unable to upload anything because they've decided people with slow Internet connections don't get to use their site, and being the only online "art" gallery I've ever been to that doesn't let you put umlauts in your titles.

I actually just got back on my DA account after over a year. It is hard to get the attention most of us would like on DA since it is not solely a furry art site. Also, a lot the material on FA would not be appropriate on DA. Although I have seen my fair share of pornography claiming to be "artistic nude" on there....
