Hi,
I apologize ahead of time if this was posted in the wrong area, I saw others posting questions here so I figure this is the best spot.

What's the verdict on "jibberish" tags? I've seen multiple submissions (in one case an entire gallery) with tags that are nothing but jibberish keymash, like asfsdf to get around the two-word tag feature.

I just don't see how it's so hard to throw two tags onto an image if you have the time to type sfsdfsd and sdgsrd. Is this something I should report?

Thanks!

My vote is yes, the tagging feature is one of the things that makes Weasyl better than FA. They need to learn to tag things properly (seriously how hard is it to type "green male fox" or some such).

I've tried fixing and adding tags to some peoples' submissions.
It's too much to handle, especially if they "mass upload".

What about people using character dialogue and shit like this, as tags?...
"Hello", "Help, Halp", "I'm", "He"+"is"+"hungry"
"How"+"was"+"your"+"day"+"dear".
"I", "am"+"awesome". "Me", "They", etc.

I've also seen some people deliberately tagging things the opposite, or with antonyms.
For example, a submission with a red background, anthropomorphic fox, holding a sword would be tagged...
"Blue"+"Background", "Human", "gun" or "firearm". Which is usually just one or two tags.

How do we deal with things like that, do we just report them?
I do ask people kindly when it comes to tagging, and I DON'T want to block people.

It would be nice, to be able to tag more than one submission with the same tag.
Although I could see the potential for abuse.

Yeah, I was going to go through and correct the tags but like I said, it's an entire gallery in some cases.

The random word tags drive me nuts as well.
Using your example of "red background, anthropomorphic fox, holding a sword"
They'd have tags like #fox, #look at my awesome art, #fucking cool, #sword, #anthro, etc - Two of those tags don't need to be there.

it's an option so I would assume it's viable to report such behaviour both for misleading tags and useless tags

Thank you, Noxid! I checked the Community Guidelines and didn't find anything there about it; I should have checked the report dropdown lol

Will go ahead and report now :)

Yep! Whether it's the content of the submission itself, the tags, or the comments on it that are the issue, just report the submission and pick the appropriate reason from the list, and type a brief note summarizing the issue.

Awesome, thanks!
Just wanted to be sure so I didn't spam the mainsite with needless reports, lol
This thread can be closed/locked/whatever now :)
