I'm wondering if there's a way for those who wanted to help after the kickstarter ended to donate and get prem membership. I'm really getting exiting about the site and all the features and the price for a prem (I'm guessing when the site is open) sounds like a deal and won't be much out of my pocket for what it's worth.

Sorry if this has been discussed or explained elsewhere, searches came up dry when searching keywords related to the title.

EDIT: Lawl, big donation button at the top of the page, though even after reading it confused me but I get the gist of it, lol. How can I donate more btw? It has $20 but explains you can donate more do I just revisit the page to donate again? o. O

Well! If you want to donate again, you can do it through our Paypal, which is linked at the top of the tumblr. If you give in multiples of 20, you can gift people Premium time. Alternatively, you can wait until the site is up, and buy an ad if you want to support the site. Either way, it's greatly appreciated!

I'll probably wait til the site has launched, I wouldn't know who to gift the premium membership to if I went ahead and bought it again xD
Also thank you for letting me know about the paypal! Would it be considered against Paypals TOS to send you all money as gifts? I heard that most accounts get frozen for receiving too many gifts from different accounts, I don't think there's a donation option when sending money. :c

I would advise against sending it as a Gift, because of basically what you said. Paypal is a bit uptight about that sort of thing. If you're concerned about us not getting the full donation amount because of Paypal's fees, you can just use ppcalc (http://ppcalc.com/) to figure out how much you would have to send for us to receive the full amount. Would basically work the same way as sending a gift, because afaik, when you send it via gift you're the person who ends up eating the fees instead of the receiver.

Don't do this because of what is said below.

If you're trying to avoid any violations of PayPal's rather onerous terms and conditions, then you shouldn't suggest people send extra to make up for the fee, as the transaction fee is supposed to be paid to PayPal by the receiver of the funds (as it would be with, say, a merchant fee on debit/credit transactions with a bank).

It is possible to get anything from a locked PayPal account, to forfeited funds, for what might seem like a minor technical violation solely between the two parties. Seems harsh, but as everyone should know, PayPal can be... a complex entity to deal with.

Hrm that is true, I forgot how nitpicky paypal can be about that in particular. Thanks for reminding me.

Not to be a huge downer, but you really need to be careful with taking donations via Paypal for use with this site. As they highly frown on pornographic content in any shape or form. They don't care if you're not the owners of said work. The fact your taking donations for the site hosting it is all they'll really see. Also, as big as I believe Weasyl will certainly get, this could be a potential problem in the future.

I agree, look at FA.
They had a similar problem with someone else.

Once we have our payment processor up, people will be able to gain access to the beta by paying through a debit or a credit card, to avoid any troubles that might arise with Paypal. We're quite aware, worry not!
