Hyena pinup (https://www.weasyl.com/static/media/16/79/1e/16791edf862e6aca30be68868f0dc1957fd6527047e7eb2398 5691df963c1d32.png) (nsfw)

I haven't really drawn a hyena before and I've only drawn muscular women clothed prior to this so it's a bit of a first time there too. So it's a lot of subject matters I'm trying to work with here are terribly unfamiliar to me.

I'm looking for assistance/second opinions with pose, anatomy, her hyena-y-ness, that sort of thing before I try lining/painting.

I tried to do some scribbles of hyena faces first to get it down (https://31.media.tumblr.com/009096c8150c9ffde9269e9f2f9f7ba0/tumblr_inline_n1jx9nMPdJ1qkka2w.png) but I don't think I'm quite there yet with her.

It'd be really great if people could use redlining or specific references when explaining since I can be a little awful at understanding text only explanations sometimes, but it's not a big deal if you can't.

Well one thing I can quickly point out is that the hands are rather small.

I think that the head could also be a bit bigger because it is a hyena. Maybe just a bit wider.
Are you drawing Shenzi (lion king)? The expression, it reminds me of her lol

Nah she's just a random lady hyena (I'm planning for her to have some dreadlocks when I paint her up.)

I think I mostly narrowed down the face to make it look less strange in combination with the human neck. Since hyenas have quite a bit of bulk there to support their heads... maybe if I thicken up her neck a bit when making her face broader?

yeah i thought about that too, I think doing one or the other might help as hyena's do have that very wide neck, since she is muscular sould you maybe make her have a thicker strong neck with the broad shoulders?

So I've edited a couple of things here (https://31.media.tumblr.com/65f937689fb0f47a2292310eb1c3c04b/tumblr_inline_n1pc3wRaV31qkka2w.png).

Made her hands a little larger and adjusted their pose to be a little clearer. made the neck a little longer and thicker, increased the size of her head and tilted it a bit to play into the pose better.

I really prefer this newer one, it feels more solid to me. I don't think there is much else I would pick at.
great job.

The new one looks a lot better! I would say just slim the wrists down a bit to make it a little more "feminine". The abdominal/arm muscles look great. I'm not sure if it's the wrist covering up the one shoulder, but it feels a little awkward (although that can sometimes happen with cover-up spots).

Overall, looks great! The edits you did helped a lot!
