I record and mix things mainly on my home computer I built.

Runs Logic 9 currently, through a small MBox mini to KRK 6's.
My keyboard broke so I am going without.
I have an alesis dm5 kit hooked thorugh USB, and a NanoKontrol control surface for easy use.
I have a cheap Behringer C1 XLR, Shure SM57 and SM58

I use a left handed Crafter Electro acoustic and Ibanez RG370dxl through Blackstar HT60 for any guitar work.
Also have some cheap guitars and bass, and a djembe drum I've yet to use.

I love logic, I've used it for years but I've discovered Pro Tools recently and wish I could afford that.

What about you folk?

I want to try ableton, I hear good things, but since I just record I rarely have need to try.
Also need new keys >.<

I used to have this drumkit too (http://i.imgur.com/EFtT5tJ.jpg) (I still, however, have my full set of Sabian cymbals. One crash allone was £220 ><)

Windows computer here running FL Studio 11.
Some additional hardware includes an Access Virus TI2 Desktop, and a Samson G-Track microphone.
For monitoring I have a pair of ADAM A7X near-field monitors, and some AKG K 272 HD headphones.

It all works magically ^^

I used to buy AKG earphones for general ipod listening oddly cheap as the store that sold them knew nothing about them. They cottoned on soon enough though. What are you headphones like? I use Sennheiser HD201s for quiet mixing, for a cheap price they're surprisingly good, lacking low end a tad but I have my KRKs now for thorough work.

right now i use my MM6 http://i.imgur.com/CA5tKpK.jpg
so far i've only used built in stuff, because it's impossible to modify synth sounds. been playing with some DAWs but not much of a fan of them.

I use an analog four track to capture all my ideas right then and there. I like the human element of tape, really.

What are you headphones like?

They're REALLY comfy! Just the kind that doesn't wear on your ears when you use them over a longer period of time ^w^
Not to mention the sound is absolutely superb.

Software :
*WaveMelon Träkker 0.18a (also home made, still being developed)
*MD Tracker 0.6a (home made, no longer used much)
*RF1 MIDI Tracker
*Cool Edit Pro 2.0 for my recording and editing needs
*LUI and DSPctrl3 for controlling the DS2416 sound cards

For actual music creation I use my own self made software. I have not really found much that clicks with me, os I end up making my own haha.

Gear :
* Pair of Yamaha DS2416 (http://www.tmeeco.eu/BitShit/DS2416.jpg)
* Yamaha SW1000XG (http://www.tmeeco.eu/BitShit/SW1000XG.jpg)
* Yamaha YMF719 (http://www.tmeeco.eu/BitShit/Asound1.jpg)
* Yamaha AX44 (http://www.tmeeco.eu/BitShit/YamahaAX440.jpg)
* Pair of Priboy E015S (http://www.tmeeco.eu/BitShit/NewEQisHere.jpg)
* Pair of Amfiton 50AS022 speakers
* Heavily modified Amfiton U-101-0 amplifier
* Miscellaneous home made speakers

My sound cards are all modified for more awesome sound now, I have not taken any new photos of that stuff.

I don't really do anything serious when it comes to music production, I just like to jam out and occasionally record a few things for the hell of it.

Software
Guitar Pro 6 - for writing out the music
POD Farm 2 - for amp effects and tones
Beatcraft - for drum loops
Audacity 1.3 - for recording

Hardware
Line 6 POD Studio GX USB audio interface
Korg CR-4 Amp + Effects processor
ATH-T200 headphones

Guitars
Schecter Omen Extreme 6 FR (Black Cherry finish)
Washburn Lyon (first electric guitar, not the greatest quality)
Peavey DD-21P acoustic guitar
"Montana Backpacker" custom travel acoustic guitar (link (http://www.besttravelguitars.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/montana-backpacker-travel-guitar-187x300.jpg))
Fender Starcaster J (I'm new to the bass scene)

I love schecters, I played a lefty C1 blackjack a year ago and I would've killed for it, had I not been amp shopping -.-

You enter notes, and instructions what to do with the notes. Typical tracker stuff, but with some twists of my own. You have absolute control over the sound though, it'll sound as good as much effort you put into the control bits.

Personally, I'm one of those oddities who prefers vintage equipment. I have an Emu Proteus/3 XR, a Roland XV3080, and a Korg TR-Rack, and while the rest of it is software, most of said software iolves recreating earlier sounds. Just a few days ago I purchased BT's Breakz from the Nu Skool and Percussive Adventures 1, which was legally possible thanks to East West reselling their classics to celebrate their 25th anniversary.

Software-wise I use FL studio for mostly everything (and sometimes Wavepad sound for quickly editing samples).
If I need to score/tab anything out, it's usually on Guitar Pro 6.

For hardware, I play an Ibanez RG series guitar with a tiny 'starter kit' fender amp. I also have a Boss RG-3 Loop station which I use for jamming or (most often) recording things whenever I come up with a new idea so that I can re-learn it later.

Man, I'd love to save up and get Axe-FX...

Until fairly recently I did everything in Sony ACID Pro, but I've switched over to REAPER. Now that I'm on Linux, I can't use ACID at all, since it doesn't like wine very much. I've got my own build of wine I run REAPER in.

The only hardware I have is an Alesis Vortex and a Peavy DPM 3 se. No fancy speakers or anything, but my laptop does have a subwoofer in it.
