Hey everybody.

Before we get started with our recent updates we’d like to take this time to acknowledge our first anniversary of our Beta. While there’s still a long road to go, we’re very thankful for all the support, comments, and suggestions you’ve provided us over this past year and have remained patient with us as we continue to improve the site. From our very first backers on IndieGogo (a list of whom you may find here (https://www.weasyl.com/thanks)) to our new users joining every day, you’ve all been great to us and we couldn’t be more proud or excited for this site and where we will go in the future.

With that being said, let’s dive in to the recent updates:

First, as our last update mentioned, we’ve been working on migrating our servers, the first part of which has been completed with our forums. The main server will be migrated by the end of October. We’ve been delayed fully moving over everything as we’ve been working tirelessly to provide new features to the site as well as integrating new coders to help with building and maintaining the site. Thank you for your patience.

Next, we will be switching our text formatting from BBCode to Markdown. During this process we’re attempting to translate existing BBCode formatting to Markdown in order to keep you from having to go back into your profiles, journals, or submissions and edit them to conform to the new code structure. We will provide a “Help” topic on using Markdown to replace our current BBCode topic, but if you’d like to get ahead of the game, you can learn more about the basics of Markdown by clicking the following link: http://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/basics

We now support Waxpost. Waxpost is a Chrome plugin which allows users to cross post submissions to multiple gallery sites like Weasyl. If you’re currently using Chrome and have multiple galleries, we highly suggest using this great feature to save time and effort when uploading your work. You can download the plugin here: here. (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/waxpost-weasyl-crossposte/boddplgmdhddfmchbifhpdpekfdaenjc?hl=en&gl=US)

We’ve added a couple of new user options for your profiles. First, you can now edit your time zone display in Site Preferences. We’ve also added the ability to edit your Profile’s thumbnail bar to display either collections, characters, or submissions. You can find that in “Edit Profile”.

Another new addition is Google Docs embedding for literary submissions which will allow you to quickly transfer any Google Document onto Weasyl with ease. All you writers out there be sure to give this feature a try. To learn more about embedding with Google Docs, be sure to check out this handy guide. (https://www.weasyl.com/help/google-drive-embed)

Finally, we’ve added URL slugs to submission URLs. You will notice that when you click on a submission in your gallery you will see that following the submission number in the URL will now appear the name of your submission.

And one last note before we leave, we’ve recently added a new part of the site, status.weasyl.com. By plugging in this address you can access graphs, tech news, and view recent posts to the @weasyl-dev (https://twitter.com/WeasylDev) Twitter account to keep updated with the technical status on the site, from the status of our server move to traffic on the site. Go ahead and take a look!

That’s all for now. As always, please follow us on Twitter and Tumblr as well as join our forums to keep up-to-date on all things Weasyl and interact with our ever growing community.

See you soon!

A whole year and I still haven't received my donation shirt xD

Heck yeah time zones, probably the one feature people were waiting for the most! Though the list could use some sorting; it's all just a hectic scramble right now, any way to I dunno, sort it alphabetically or by time zone or something?

Still, damn a year... here's to many others! *raises imaginary glass of wine*

EDIT: Funny coincidence, today is also the birthday of Age of Empires II, the greatest RTS ever made. Happy 14th birthday, I'm looking forward to your new expansion coming out next month!

it's sorted first by country name and second by offset. the country names should appear above each set of zones.

Really? What I see is a bunch of America, then a bunch of Asias, one or two Americas, another bunch of Asias, a random Australia, another handful of Americas, etc.

Sorry about that, it should have been sent by now! Let me know if your address is the same. If not, message me your new address and we'll get your shirt sent to you asap.

We'll also offer a free sketch to compensate if you'd like one. If you're interested, contact Stereo with details.

A cross website posting plugin? That sounds awesome! It's a shame it's only for chrome and not firefox as of yet, but it obviously looks like something in early stages. I'm not certain how much use I will get out of it since I use all the art sites and each of them have different submission format requirements that would require more of a sort of hub for artwork rather than program that ports submissions to just one place. But I love the idea. I'll have to try it out sometime.

I love that google docs is now an accepted format. I already use it for stashing my literary works as it is. Making this accessible to Google tools is a great move on the internet. I can't wait to try it out. This is a very pleasant surprise.
