View Full Version : How We Handle Reports + Updates!

Hello, Users!

Many of you have responded positively to our PSAs regarding how to report issues such as harassment and art theft, and we really appreciate your warm reception and commitment to help the Weasyl community!

Some users have approached us wondering how exactly we handle those reports once we receive them, and we're here to give you a brief idea of what goes into addressing most of them.

When a report is filed, we are made aware of it and first determine what the actual issue is. Several of our reports have been concerning the ratings of images. In a great deal of these cases, the issue is quickly identified and remedied with a singular moderator or admin addressing the issue and closing the ticket after making appropriate adjustments and messaging the user.

There are, however, situations which require discussion from the general staff. These mostly include borderline rating changes, harassment, and art theft cases. One mod will bring a report to the attention of the rest of the staff where it will be debated. In some cases these can be resolved in as quickly as several minutes while others may require more lengthy debate, requiring a vote on what action should be taken by staff. While doing so, we keep our Community Guidelines and Ratings Guide as the highest authority on any subject and always predicate our decisions on what is within those guides and the spirit of what is written in them

The staff does acknowledge that every report is unique, and as such, we also realize that each requires its own level of attention. We treat everything on a case-by-case basis, with past actions only coming into play if we believe we view a pattern of behavior from a user which is contrary to the community we're trying to foster here on Weasyl.

Hopefully this gives you a much greater insight on how we address reports here on Weasyl!

While we're here, we'd also like to make you aware of a couple of recent developments with the site:

1) We've switched to using Sanpera for our image operations which will fix a few bugs relating to image resizing.

2) Addressed an issue with thumbnails which were either broken or caused rows of thumbnails to not line up correctly when browsing submissions.

3) Fixed mp3 detection and the "next/back" buttons for journals.

4) Artist names have been added to image and thumbnail URLs.

5) Weasyl now supports Twitter cards!

6) Added tor hidden service which allows users to browse Weasyl anonymously: http://weasylartw55noh2.onion/

Thank you all again for your continued support! Please be sure to follow us on Tumblr and Twitter as well as join our forums to interact with the Weasyl community and keep up-to-date with all things Weasyl!
