Are there any other Kemonomimi that have joined Weasyl yet? For those that don't know Kemonomimi is basically the Otaku Fandom's version of Anthros/Furries. We're basically more human looking in the face, some people are still covered in fur, but some have skin and just the tails, ears, and/or feet of a specific animal, or inanimate object.

While I'm not one myself, I do have a Kitsunemimi OC, if that counts. ^^;

I didn't know people were calling it an otaku "fandom" now. Nor was I aware that otaku became a positive word. @n@ Where have I been?

Sometimes I'll draw myself with the ears + tail of my fursona; though I hardly think that counts.

@ Atomi - That's Awesome! I have a Kitsunemimi too, but my main is a custom mimi xD

@ Shane - Pffft I've been calling myself, and have been told that people in the Japanese entertainment fandom (anime/manga) are called Otaku for over 10 years, so I'm sticking with that term over the new stuff people come out with, I mean when people first starting calling them Weeaboos (sp) it was very negative. I have also seen the term used in anime is a positive light (as well in the way I use it) so I feel comfortable with it!

I feel it does, but I'm not gonna slap labels on people, don't wanna be pushy with others, yes? ^^

i have to say, though, that weeaboo isn't positive at all and if someone calls you that they're trying to insult you, lmao. xD i'll probably ease my way into drawing kemonomimi for human practice.

@ Des: Sure man! Glad to see you got one too, wouldn't mind seeing a pic of your OCs! C:

@ Shane: That's true. "Weeaboo" is the total-insult term for it, while otaku is a lot less extreme, at least in most places(?)

My furries tend to be p human faced for the most part, but that's probably due to the massive anime influence in my art if that counts for anything lol

wait wait wait doesn't the anime fandom have furry characters? i'm p sure that anime has furry characters too, like that one rabbit from summer wars? and that kemonomimi are just their own thing???

i used to have a kemonomimi sona thing but i didn't consider it a fursona thing and also i was a twelve year old weeaboo (literally)

Yaaa, kemonomimi are their own separate thing. Japanese anthropomorphic art is called kemono, which is another style that varies a lot! You've probably seen it.
Examples are stuff from like... Solatorobo, and someone else mentioned Summer Wars already!
I dabble in both, but I'm not very good at the latter. It's difficult to get down.
I have had kemonomimi characters since I was 11 but they don't look very anime anymore. I just love the aesthetics of ears and tails on people...

I kinda fall in the spectrum I guess. Yeah. 8I

My characters are shapeshifters though.

Pffft, Don't matter if they shapeshift, pretty much all of my OCs can shapeshift -this is a favorite fantasy of hers- I just see a lot of Furries, and regular humnaoid people here and wanted to see if Kemonomimi were becoming a rare site in the internet universe.
